The Royal Glasshouses - Laeken, Brussels

20th April - 10th May 2019

The Royal Glasshouses were built by King Leopold II to accommodate his collection of plants from the Congo. The series of eleven massive greenhouses contain a selection of rare plants kept in peak condition by a team of 20 gardeners. These huge greenhouses, next to the Palace of Laeken where the royal family actually lives, are stunning, there are so many in the grounds of the Palace that it’s like a huge glass city and the plants inside are meticulously looked after.
